Villa Il Cardinale is a historic Roman villa, with archeological remains dating back to the 1st Century AD . We have ten bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and a large and beautiful garden. The villa now has a purpose built yoga shala along with “The Emperor’s Bath” – a pool in which to cool off in the Roman Summer. For more information on the venue visit – www.villailcardinale.com – though you can take our word for it, it’s amazing!
All the money paid for accommodation goes directly to the maintenance of this historic villa, which Marina the owner is opening up for yoga and massage retreats – so you can sleep well knowing you’re giving back to the local community and helping create a space for growth and development for other people too – great karma!
The villa is easy to reach from both Rome airports, you can get a train direct from Fiumicino Airport or a car from Ciampino Airport to reach the villa. There’s lots of low cost flights available to both airports.

6-11th May – IGNITE THE SPARK with dynamic flow
The focus of the week will be dynamic vinyasa flow yoga. This is a relatively vigorous practice, which strengthens the core and upper body. You will be guided through sequences that generate heat to detoxify and energise and that quieten the mind by absorbing it in a strong physical practice. Beginners are welcome but you should be relatively fit and active.
13-18th May – EXPAND THE FLAME with slow flow
The focus of this week is more restorative as you’ll be guided through a slower, more mindful flow. We will take a little more time to release deep held tension and connect to subtle flows of lifeforce energy. There will also be a bit more of an emphasis on stillness and meditation in this week.
Surrounded by peaceful and beautiful mountain scenery, you will spend five glorious days stretching and strengthening your body, calming your mind and lifting the spirit. Playful partner work, touch and massage, meditation and soulful asana (posture) will lead you into deeper connection with the life that flows and expresses through you and all of us.
There’ll be plenty of delicious home-cooked food and the chance to relax and enjoy our heated pool, jacuzzi, gym and sauna.
Price €675 based on two guests sharing a double studio (plus optional chill-out weekend at 20% discount).
Space is limited, so contact us now to reserve your place and quote Yoganu as a reference.
